Writing doesn’t have to be painful. There are many effective strategies you can use to simplify the process and get your brilliant ideas out of your head and onto the page faster and more easily — in a way that makes you say “YES! Naaailed it!” Here’s one of my favourites…

DO THE RIGHT STEPS IN THE RIGHT ORDER

Too often we start writing the actual piece before we’ve spent any time brainstorming what we want to say. We try to edit the words before they’ve left our heads. We finish the last paragraph and only then look back over the whole thing and wonder if it’s structured in a way that makes sense. And so we create a lot of unnecessary work for ourselves – or end up with a piece of writing that isn’t as good as we’d like it to be.
